The Visitor Studies Group: Championing excellent visitor experiences

Upcoming Events

Working without words: adventures in inviting and analysing responses without text or language
1.30pm-2.45pm, Tuesday 25th February

What happens when we invite audiences and collaborators to respond in ways that don’t easily generate text we can analyse? What about audiences who can’t respond with words at all? In this seminar we will explore example of working with word-free responses in learning evaluation, co-curation and creative research that invite participants to make, move, or play rather than speak or write in response. With learning from the National Science and Media Museum and from Starcatchers, an organisation who create performances and creative experiences for babies and children from birth to 5 years.

So what happened next? A reflective conversation on evaluating the cost of culture
1.30pm-2.45pm, Thursday 3rd April 1.30pm-2.45pm

Ahead of this year’s annual VSG conference, we will be holding space for members to revisit last year’s theme (almost) a year on, to consider how it has impacted their work and bring to light to learnings gained since. This interactive workshop led by Ogo Okafor, the 2024 Conference Lead and Data and Insights Manager for Shakespeare’s Globe, will invite VSG members to share and discuss examples of applying their learning.

Our year-round events are all free for paid-up VSG Members.

We hope there’s something to interest everyone, but we are always happy to hear ideas for events, especially from anyone who wants to get stuck into making them happen, or to partner with us.
