FAQ
What is the Visitor Studies Group?
The Visitor Studies Group is a network of engaged professionals from museums, galleries, libraries, archives, zoos, botanic gardens and other cultural and natural heritage organisations, who support each other to achieve best practice in this area. You can learn more about is in the 'About' section of this site, e.g. by reading out constitution or meeting the committee.
How often do you meet?
We meet about four times a year in locations across the UK. We have our AGM at the beginning of the year, which is usually combined with a seminar, and a two-day summer school in one of the summer months. Aditionally we also try to have a Spring and an Autumn event. Check out our events calendar to see what's coming up.
What are the membership benefits?
Benefits include discounts at VSG events and access to the website's premium content. To learn more about benefits visit our membership page.
How do I become a member?
You can either sign up as an organisational or an individual member, and there's also a discount for students. Instructions on how to join can be found on our membership page.
What happened to the 'VSG Recommends' section?
This was a new feature that we piloted in 2009. However, it proved to be too difficult to maintain so has now been retired in favour of sending out more regular updates on Twitter. However, all the old editions of 'VSG Recommends' are still available in the archive .
