The Visitor Studies Group: Championing excellent visitor experiences

Scottish Networking Evening

Scottish Networking Evening

Want to meet people who work in museums in and near Edinburgh? Fancy a chat about the audience research or visitor studies? Or just a drink with some like-minded friendly folk?

The Visitor Studies Group has joined with the Scottish Museums Federation for an informal networking event on Wednesday 30th September in Edinburgh.

SMF Committee member David McLeod will treat us to a short tour of the new Surgeons’ Hall Museums which will open the week before and then we will retire to the pub for museum and visitor studies chat and socialising.

VSG members always tell us that opportunities for networking are really important and we would love to get together with SMF members and see whats going on in the visitor focused world. Similar groups have been scheduled for London and Manchester.

If this sounds fun then meet us at 3:30pm at the entrance to Surgeon’s Hall Museum on Nicolson Street http://www.facebook.com/surgeonshallmuseum

When the Museums shut at 5pm we will be moving to the Royal Dick bar in Summerhall (not to be confused with Surgeons’ Hall) where there will be reserved tables. If you can’t make the Museum then feel free to come and find us at the Royal Dick http://www.summerhall.co.uk/the-royal-dick/

Please drop us a short email (admin@visitors.org.uk) if you are planning to join so we get an idea of numbers.

And to find us more easily, our mug shots are on the VSG website: http://visitors.org.uk/committee/

We would love to see you there,

Sheena and Lyndsey
