Rachel specialises in evidence-based marketing and audience development, helping organisations research their audience and evaluate their activity in order to develop effective strategies for strengthening audience numbers, relationships and loyalty. She is experienced in using surveys, focus groups, one-to-one interviews, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data and using segmentation models to draw insights.
Rachel has worked as a freelancer arts marketing and audience development consultant since 2005, under the name Creative Communications. Her clients include English Heritage, National Portrait Gallery, Tate, Public Catalogue Foundation, The Audience Agency, London Transport Museum, Touring Exhibitions Group, Philharmonia Orchestra and Wellcome Collection. She has delivered training for Independent Theatre Council, Royal College of Arts, South Western Federation of Museums and Galleries and Government Knowledge.
She is a member of Visitor Services Group, Museums Association, Group for Education in Museums, Arts Marketing Association, Touring Exhibitions Group, UK Theatre, Independent Theatre Council and London Museums Group.
She has an MSC in Tourism from Strathclyde University and previously worked in tourism development, press and marketing in local authorities and at Tate Gallery, City of London Sinfonia and Audiences London.
